Hurray

I've never been so excited for bodily fluids.
What do I mean? Levi is potty trained about 90%.

Since the time he turned 2, we tried once a month to see if he would take to the potty. Sure we've always sat on the potty but we've never really been persistent in having him try to do his duty. Usually these "once a month" attempts were about 1 to 3 hours long. They didn't last long because we felt Levi was being traumatized by the event. (ie eventually crying, whining, sometimes angry) Needless to say we didn't push it. He just wasn't ready. We knew he was close though because he held it for long periods of time. We know this because Levi would wake up in the morning and have his pants and diaper completely off.....but he never ONCE peed on his clothes, the sheets, the bed, or on the floor. This is why we thought the "naked method" would work.... but it didn't. :/

Part of me felt bad.  felt like I didn't have much time to be persistent and do the 3 day method where you literally sit them on the toilet every 20 minutes.... Along with keeping up with Levi around the house, attending to Lila, and attempting to focus on school, I just couldn't do it. Plus, I don't run by the clock. If I do, I turn into a crazy controlling person. (you should see me trying to get the whole family out the door to be on time for church) Time constraints = irritated mommy. Irritated mommy + potty training and stubborn toddler = chaos and probably not a happy ending.

However, we've been counting our blessings because I kid you not. One day... it just clicked. Out of nowhere. After nap, Levi was put in underwear and later sat on the potty and peed and I made the BIGGEST deal. He had no accidents that first day and even peed for Daddy when he got home.
We decided to take it slow, so for 3 days, we only "trained" in the afternoons after nap until bedtime. Then we went full days after that. Levi has had maybe 3 accidents in his underwear in the last 2 weeks and obviously still goes in his pullup at night and during the night. We'll tackle night training a lot further down the road. As far as pooping, he's pooped on the potty for the last 2 days, so hopefully we can stay on top of it as well as we have been doing.
What's even better is yesterday at church, among friends and distractions in Nursery, he told his teacher he had to go potty. So they brought him to me and we went and he did great! Granted he was in a pullup because I wasn't sure how he'd do, but his pullup was dry and then he peed on the big potty and then back to class.

This momma is so proud. Especially since he just hit the ground running and learned so quickly (when he was ready of course) A lot of girls at church are jealous because I told them we really didn't do much. All I could tell them was that we just waited until he was ready and it worked out SO MUCH BETTER.

P.S.
Quick Lila update. We had her 6 month checkup last week. She's 14.8 lbs (20%) and 25 inches (20%). She's an itty bitty thing but she's healthy! Eating solids like a champ. But still HATES being on her belly. She's super chill so she doesn't roll over much. Doctor said no worries as long as she HAS done it.
