Birthday Girl!

So, I had a birthday... a week ago(October 20). It was really good too. I'm the big 2-3 At work, the owners of my company got me 2 tickets to see Beauty and the Beast on Broadway. The company is coming through Springfield on a tour and I believe is showing only once. The show isn't until march and I think tickets are sold out. AND, our seats are awesome. 6th row of the mezzanine (so not front front aka orchestra) and right smack dab in the middle. I'm so excited. My bosses (husband and wife owners of company) are also taking Tim and I out to eat beforehand because they have tickets too. I"M SO EXCITED.

Tim was not so excited. For one reason, how was he going to top that?? Well, I came home from work ON my birthday and there were presents on the kitchen table. Tim says to me, Dave and Mariann may have gotten you a better present but mine are BIGGER! Turns out Tim had bought me a sewing machine and a starter kit (colored threads, bobbins, needles, pins, scissors, seam ripper etc.). I was excited because I've been wanting one for about a year now. So in the future if Tim takes an internship I will have one more hobby that can occupy my time. We also got Buffalo Wild Wings (which is my favorite!) and went out to see a movie that night. All while my father in law watched Levi. Also, my bestie from work, Ashlee, got me a gift card to bath and body works for $20. Some for me and some for Tim. Did you know they sell men's fragrances and lotions now too? Well, with the sales and specials they had going on, plus a coupon for 20% off, and my $20 gift card. I  went in and bought $60 worth of stuff and only ended up paying $10 out of pocket. SCORE. Plus since I "spent" over $50, I got a free travel lotion too.

Now since mine is over, it's on to planning for Levi's. Who, by the way, is walking a ridiculous amount. He's practically running, he's just not very good at it. :) Time has flown by!

My favorite pictures that I was able to post in 5 minutes. (I'm tired and ready for bed)

1... 2... 3... Steps and MORE!

Here's some fun news about our family. Levi's on the move! For a while now he's been standing up and walking with assistance or holding onto something. For example, he loves to push my step stool around the kitchen. Then for the past 2 weeks or so he's been letting go of things after he pulls himself up, but just stands for a few seconds and grabs onto near furniture or plops down. Well.... it's official now, because he's finally taking steps unassisted and it's the greatest thing in the world, at least to us!!

Yesterday he took about 3 or 4 but they were quick and he was basically in process of falling to the ground as he took them. Today however, he took off. Walking slower this time, and more than just a few steps.. across the living room. It's amazing how quick he gets the hang of things. It was just a week ago that he couldn't stand by himself for very long and now look at him.

Here's our home video of day two of Levi's learning to walk phase. Enjoy! (ignore the SUPER EXCITED mom and dad. Haha)

NOW I CAN BUY HIM SHOES!!!

I'm so excited and I love him so much!

More News

This past week has been so stressful, yet full of blessings. It seemed we were stuck between a rock and a hard place and I started to just break down. Yes, tears everywhere.
However, I was struck last night as I was doing some homework. I was reading a devotional by Dallin H. Oaks and the subject was on timing. I haven't read all of it yet, but from what I did get, it basically mentioned that the Lord has his own timetable and we must learn to make the right decisions and at the right time. We can do this by trusting in the Lord, exercising our faith, and praying continually so that we may be guided along the way.

2 days later, Tim informed me of what may be the BEST news that our family has ever gotten. Nothing's for sure so there's no guarantee. Stay tuned...... we're still praying.

Accepted

Found out some good news today:

Tim was accepted into the School of Engineering at The Ohio State University.

The mechanical engineering program is a pretty competitive program at OSU and we were thrilled to get the news. Tim tries so hard and gets so frustrated at times, but in the end all of the hard work will pay off.
I love him so much.
