Ready for Christmas

We put up our Christmas tree about a week ago. Last year it was crazy because Levi was still too young to help and he cried. This year, he did much better but Lila was too young. If you look closely, you'll see the bottom foot of the christmas tree don't have ornaments because Lila pulls them off.

We have an artificial pre-lit christmas tree. We prefer it that way. To each their own.

 Saturday, December 7th.
Every year, Tim's work does a Children's Holiday Movie Event. Basically, they rent out a small theater and give the option of watching a free movie. This year we got to choose from Despicable Me 2 or Frozen. We dropped Lila off at a friend's home (too young for those loud theaters) and took Levi up that morning. Levi got his picture taken with Frosty the snowman and Santa.
Here we are in Line for Santa

We ended up seeing Frozen, and we even had decent seats! Even though the theater was PACKED.
Therma-tru also buys everyone the kids combo packs. It's like a small shoe box with compartments for popcorn, a snack, and a small drink. So we all go our own popcorn, sour patch kids, and soda.
The movie was really good. I expected it to be more like Tangled, but Frozen had way more songs/music in it. No wonder since Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell (both broadway success actresses) did the voices of the two major characters that sang.
Levi did ok in the theater but got fidgety about halfway through.
It was really a fun time. We're really grateful for Therma-tru for doing this.

Slight frustration, ....OK more than slight

Before you read this, I will warn you it was written in a bitter moment, But it needed to escape.
I've almost come to accept the fact that people will say "Oh, she's so immature/childish. She needs to mature."
Before you/we say things like that lets remind ourselves that if everything we thought or spoke out loud to only our spouses were written down, we'd all be pretty childish.

" No one is perfect, so let's stop expecting them to be."

RANT:
So.......
I have a couple of pet peeves. One of them being when people blow their nose in public. But that's not where I'm going with this.

My whole life I've been surrounded by great friends and family who I trust and love. Whenever something needed done, it was done. When someone said they'd do something...they did it.

Then I got older, married my love, and moved to a new area with new people.

This leads me to another one of my pet peeves. When people don't follow through with something they say they'll do. OR along the same lines) say they did something but really they didn't or did something else instead)

Come on now.

For example:
1. Me:     I'm throwing a party. Please RSVP- and no one does only a few do, and I have to hassle them (I've had this happen 4 times, FOUR TIMES!)

2. Me:   Hey, I need your help to clean the church building (I'm the assistant-ward building representative who basically assigns people to clean the church[don't even get me started...])
Family: Yeah, we'll be there! send us the details (emails, texts, phone calls, and announced on sundays)
....... never showed up

3. Person: After handing gift to another new mom looks at me and says "oh, I have a gift for you and your new baby too!"
 Never happened
Person: I have your gift sitting at home, I forgot it.
Never happened.
---I'm in NO WAY complaining that I didn't get a gift but Don't lie to me just to make yourself look/feel better. I'm not expecting anything from you so don't feel like you have to make up for it.

4.Person: Can I come over to do "such and such? on ____(certain day)
me: Yes, but I need to know what time.
person: Ok I will call you.
...person shows up unexpectedly on said "certain day"

5. again... "Can I come over and do "such and such" I will be there at 1 or 1:30.
.... shows up at 3, no prior phone call.

6. Person: Can you do me a favor?
me: sure!
...takes advantage of the favor (I won't go into details)

I know I can't expect people to be perfect but I just feel like there's a level of consideration that people should have. ESPECIALLY when those people are MOMS who get what its like to have young children at home.

COME ON NOW!!!

And P.S. Just because I know you personally, and I have a fancy camera, doesn't mean I'll take your pictures for free. I can't play favorites. My family gets free shots because they are worth my time and effort.
