5K

In 2007, I lost one of my close friends at the end of my senior year. She was only a sophomore at the time, but we had played soccer together for many years. Since that time, her family has held a 5K in her honor, The Mandy Deppen 5K, raising funds along with raffle ticket sales and donated prizes to present scholarships in her name to students from our high school, Graham High School.

Our lives had gotten pretty busy over the last year, and I've had 3 children since and I was never able to make it to the 5K. However, I received news that this would be the last year they would be doing it. At that moment, I told myself that we would be there. I was able to talk my parents into doing it with us. My dad also knew Mandy and her parents from our days of soccer.
We had the kids with us so we only walked, and we definitely brought up the rear, but I'm so glad I was able to be a part of it.

Lila's Birthday!

My sweet Lila (or bean-bean we often call her) turned 2 years old on Sunday.
She got lots of fun things from family and friends including a leapfrog phone, play makeup and hair dresser set, a tutu, a tea set, and a soccer game. We gave her a doll that came with a doctor set and a mini stroller.
We spent time with family in Ohio the week before her birthday.

Then we celebrated as a family on Saturday October 18th. We went to a trunk or treat for Tim's work but it was SO cold and wet. We only lasted about 45 minutes. Sunday after church ON her birthday we just sang and gave her cupcakes and ice cream.

Happy Birthday Lila!

Blessing

We blessed miss Ana Sophia on August 31st, 2014. Tim's parents and his sister's family made it. My parents also came. Although my dad isn't a member of the Church, I was really glad to have him there to see such a special moment in our lives. I will remember this forever.

6 Years

Tim and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on September 27, 2014.
I was able to find a sitter for all 3 kids and took Tim out for a round of Golf. Tim really likes to Golf and has kind of gotten me into it as well. It's super hard for us to find time to go since we have 3 kids now, but I really wanted to go before the weather got too cold. Especially since during the warmer weather I was pregnant or recovering from my c-section.

We only did 9 holes because of the short time we had. I was glad for it because my hands were starting to get sore and blistered from holding the golf clubs. And when you're not that great at, like myself, you take a lot of swings. We didn't keep score. I'm glad for that because I was able to just have fun and not think about how I was doing. We had a blast. It was really nice being able to do an activity together rather than just going out to eat or see a movie for a date.
Anyway, we also hit Red Lobster for lunch. Definitely a favorite for their Endless Shrimp Special.
They actually ended up sitting us in a section without a server. We brought it to the host's attention after 10 minutes or so and they treated us like royalty afterwards. After a sincere apology from the host and the manager, we ended up getting a free appetizer, free drinks, and a free dessert. We only ended up paying for our entrees.
Also, Red Lobster makes THE best Virgin Strawberry Daiquiris.

Unfortunately... No pictures from our golf outing or lunch that day. I forgot to grab the small camera and I don't have a smartphone that takes decent pictures either.

We came home that afternoon, though, and took the kids to a local corn maze with a lot of activities. They had a blast and I'm glad we utilized carrying the younger 2. The 12-acre corn maze would have taken us much longer had Lila walked it.
Fortunately, I DID take pictures here. I used my old point and shoot so quality of pictures isn't the best.
